SO this was the question of the day from my 8 year old daughter. Now...to lie or tell the truth??.....after a little bit of thought I answered that question with a question (beacuse that is the diplomatic thing to do...right??) Here is how that conversation went:
Madison: Mommy? What do babies eat?
Me: (hesitate) Well, what did you learn in Science?
Madison: People are mammals and they have live squiggly babies and feed their babies milk.
Me: Well when mommies have their babies, God created their bodies to make milk.
Madison: But how does the baby get the milk?
Me: Well....from the mommy's tata (that is the word we picked so stop snickering)
At this point Madison's eyes are as big as saucers and her mouth is about dragging on the ground.
So of course the next obvious question was...
Madison: Did WE drink from your tatas??
Me: Chance didn't but you, Trinity, and Quinn did for a couple days...then I didn't make enough milk to keep feeding you.
Madison: What did we eat then?
Me: Well, God showed some people how to make a good substitute for mommy milk and you ate that.
Madison: THAT is SO COOL!!!!
