A New Car!!!
As my post about the bad day expresses, we have had some issues with our current vehicle. We decided that we needed to get rid of it sooner rather than later, so we went to the local Ford dealership and looked into buying a bigger car. Now, I will be the first to say that minivans and my vanity are not close friends. I do NOT see myself as a minivan kinda girl, but a minivan is the practical solution to our problem of having outgrown our vehicle. We are hopefully going to bring our new used Dodge Grand Caravan (2008) home tomorrow.

FOUR weeks and counting...
We will be packing up a moving truck to move across the country in exactly FOUR weeks....the time is going pretty quickly!! I CANNOT believe that we will be on our own and in another state in less than a month!! WOOO HOOO!!
I have started packing the non-essential items in our house...there don't seem to be many. Soon I will be starting to pack the kids' toys and some of our clothes. We even moved Quinn's bed into the girls' room so I could take over his room as packing central!!!

Today Was A Really Bad Day
I can't even come up with a witty title right now. I usually TRY to only blog the positive (notice the lack of posts over the last wek....yeah it's been THAT kind of week...) BUT I needed to post this so that I can pound out my frustrations...take them out on the keyboard, ya know.
So last April the computer in our GMC Envoy was messed up. It would just lose all power while driving down the street....it was under warranty then (not any more tho) so we got it fixed and went on our way....fast forward to this past Saturday. We were sitting in the parking lot of Marshall's and the car freaking dies....so we call the dealership today to see if maybe, just maybe they will fix it since it is the same issue that they just fixed 8 months ago. They say we have to bring it in so they can look at it before they tell us if they will pay to fix it. Well that is all well and good if the dealership wasn't 45 minutes away with no traffic and my car wasn't dieing every 1-1.5 miles. Needless to say, we had to nurse our car all the way...it dies, you turn it off for 2-3 minutes, it starts again and goes a little ways and dies...then repeat...took us almost 3 hours to get the thing there for them to tell us that they couldn't even look at it till tomorrow. SO off we go to the ERAC to rent a car....they put us in a little Chevy Cobalt and tell us it will be $45 a day.....if that wasn't enough, my phone died so I decided to go ahead and buy the FM transmitter I have been wanting so I can listen to the iPhone in the car while it is charging....spent $72 on that and it doesn't freaking work.
It is pretty sad when the high point in your day is filing your taxes.....

Matthew had his phone interview with the manager up in Indiana today and she said she would find a spot for him up there. We will know for sure which branch he will be going to on Tuesday at the latest. There is so much to be done and not that much time to do it....but we are all SOOO excited!!!

Trinity the Cute
This was a really cute thing Trinity said...I know I know....if I write everything cute she does, I will have a lot of blogs...but bare with me.
Today Trinity came in with a rather serious look on her face. She said "Mommy, can I skip my next 2 birthdays?" Well, I took her to mean that she wanted to go straight from age 5, skip 6 and 7, and go to 8, but NO...she wanted to stay 5 for 2 more years and let Quinn catch up to her. Ok now tell me that wasn't blog worthy!

Must....have...sleep....
Ok so I don't know if it is the weather or what but I just fell asleep and took a 2 hour nap for the second day in a row. God bless Chance that he kept the kids quiet and let me sleep....there is hope for that child even if he does have the dreaded TEENAGE disease.
I hope it isn't the weather and it is just due to the fact that I haven't been sleeping well at night or something. I'd hate to be a walking zombie all winter long when it gets cold. Maybe it would help if I got out of my PJs every once in a while?!? Now there is a dreaded thought.

Job for sale....
....Ok so maybe it isn't for SALE, but Matthew told me last night that they are already beginning the steps for listing his position at the branch here in Texas. He has not even interviewed with the District Manager up in Indiana yet.....WHOA!! His manager here said that, while she thought the transfer would go through with no problems, his job would be safe if for some reason we had to stay here in Texas. This is all happening pretty quickly and I am getting more and more nervous by the minute.
WE ARE MOVING 1,000 MILES FROM HOME!!!!

Since we are on the topic of cute conversations, here is a doozy from Trinity.

Trinity: Can I go on The Biggest Loser?
Me: (laughing)No.
Trinity: Why?
Me: Cuz you're skinny
Trinity: Oh
pause for a minute
Trinity: So it is for people who are not skinny?
Me: Yes it is for fat people like mommy.
Trinity: do you wanna go on The Biggest Loser?
Me: I could but I don't kn ow anyone fat to go there with me.
Trinity: Well if I wasn't skinny could I go with you?
Me: Well, you aren't old enough
Trinity: Well, if I was old enough and not skinny could I?
Me: I guess so, but I hope you are never not skinny enough that you needed to go on there.
Trinity: So they go on there to get skinny?
Me: yeah they go on to lose weight
Trinity: OH I didn't know you needed to lose weight.

Mommy...what do babies eat??
SO this was the question of the day from my 8 year old daughter. Now...to lie or tell the truth??.....after a little bit of thought I answered that question with a question (beacuse that is the diplomatic thing to do...right??) Here is how that conversation went:
Madison: Mommy? What do babies eat?
Me: (hesitate) Well, what did you learn in Science?
Madison: People are mammals and they have live squiggly babies and feed their babies milk.
Me: Well when mommies have their babies, God created their bodies to make milk.
Madison: But how does the baby get the milk?
Me: Well....from the mommy's tata (that is the word we picked so stop snickering)
At this point Madison's eyes are as big as saucers and her mouth is about dragging on the ground.
So of course the next obvious question was...
Madison: Did WE drink from your tatas??
Me: Chance didn't but you, Trinity, and Quinn did for a couple days...then I didn't make enough milk to keep feeding you.
Madison: What did we eat then?
Me: Well, God showed some people how to make a good substitute for mommy milk and you ate that.
Madison: THAT is SO COOL!!!!

2010...Ready or Not, Here We Come!
For the first time in a very long time I am anxious and excited about the future...well, at least it has been a long time since I have been anxious and excited in a GOOD way. So far, 2010 is looking to be a bright and wonderful year for the Sabie family.
First of all, later this month will be the decade mark of Matthew and I being together, which means that in October we will celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The last 10 years have been packed full of adventure and more than a little insanity. We have had 3 babies and 2 pregnancy losses. We have been through more heartache than any couple ever should, but have also had more blessings than we could ever imagine. It has been a decade filled with ups and down, laughter and tears, sorrow and joy. It has been the best decade of my life!
Also, Matthew and I have made the decision to move our family from the hot, humid summers of Texas to the COLD, snowy winters of Indiana. While I am very excited about this new adventure, I am also very nervous to be leaving the only place I really know and it breaks my heart to be leaving my mom and dad. I think it will be a very good move for our family.
I don't know everything 2010 has in store...BRING ON THE INSANITY!!!
